Happy "Eat Dessert First" Week!

That's right! May 1st thru the 7th is not only National Eat Dessert First Week, it's also National Fairy Godmother Week. May 1st is May Day, Mother goose Day and Save the Rhino Day. May 3rd is national Lumpy Rug Day, May 4th is national Respect for Chickens Day and of course, May 5th is National Make-up Junkie Day. With so many holidays all at once, you know what that means...

It's the CFA, Fairy Godmother Eats Dessert First, while reading Mother Goose rhymes to a baby Rhino SALE!

What the heck does that mean? 10% off of Books of course!
We don't have Pie or Rhinos here you Silly Goose!

New additions to our inventory this week... Some Lovey - Yes lovey handspuns from Homegrown Arts. Lovingly handspun by our multi-talented instructor Kelley Adams. These are sure to go fast as each is one-of-a-kind!Grab them while they're here.

We'd also like to share a couple of customer photos with you. The first is a felted Cloche' hat made by Laurie Rye for her great niece. As Laurie says, "She has Flaming Red Hair". Can't you just imagine this on a little sweet red head? The pattern, found in our book Felt It!, works up in children's and adult sizes. SOOOO CUTE!

The next few photos are from our Felted Flowers class. Man 'o Man did they have a good time! If you missed it because it filled up too fast, Julie has graciously offered to teach it again in July!

And last but NOT least ~ I'd like to commend our studious spinning student Julie Bernal!!
She has taken to spinning like a duck-to-water. Doesn't she look like she's been spinning forever? A total natural! Way to go Julie! We can't wait to see what amazing yarns you spin!

UNTIL NEXT WEEK ~ HAPPY MAY!

Spring? Yeah right....

As I sit at the computer and post to all of you out there... I'm looking out the front windows of the shop. What do I see you ask?? SNOW. I don't even want to talk about it. It's falling... and while the forecasters tried to make it into the STORM OF THE CENTURY, it fooled them all and shifted farther south. I think it should be mandatory that weathermen/women have windows in their offices. I can just picture a forecaster sitting in a cubicle with no windows anywhere, telling US what it's doing outside. Okay, enough about that... *stepping down from soap box*

What a week it's been at CFA. I had so many wonderful customers in this week that are so exciting! One in particular - Kathy Eyre has embarked on a voyage into the wonderful world of Felting!! She was here Tuesday, and then yesterday only a day and a half later, she was back! Look at what she brought to show us! It's a lizard in a wool coat! Complete with a beaded necklace!!! It's the best use for a plastic lizard I think I've ever seen! Fantastic job Kathy! Keep up the great work!

A few other things to post quick. We have a completed a sample of the Knit/Felt Noni Bag here for you to look at. This class is coming up in only two weeks and we still have spaces available. Imagine taking this to a summer wedding, graduation, reunion or just a delightful night out. A great introduction to knitting and felting, beading and knitting flowers.

Our shipment of Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece will be arriving in the next few days. We're just itching to get our hands on it so we can make up a sample of this irresistable summer tank for little girls. (Actually, I want to make one little, so I can adapt the pattern to one MY size!)

It's sooo darn cute! How could you resist making that??

A new shipment of Frog Tree's Ceramic Buttons arrived this week and we're expecting a new shipment of books the first part of next week.

We leave you with some knitting humor... remember to stay warm this crazy spring weekend. Isn't it just the perfect weather to snuggle up with a cup of tea and some yarn.....

April brings Eweluvit

First of all, a BIG Thank You to all of you who stopped by our booth this past weekend at the Pueblo Quilt and Stitch Expo! We had a great time and enjoyed telling people that "YES, there really is a LYS (Local Yarn Store) in Pueblo!" Can you believe we didn't take any pictures of the booth!?! Ugh... to many things to remember. So instead, here is a lovely knit strawberry.

As many of you may have been anticipating, our Eweluvit Rewards program kicked off it's debut yesterday at the shop. Stop by to pick up your card!

What else to tell you this week. I snapped a quick photo of one of our new adorable bags from Lantern Moon. This one is silk with embroidered butterflies and even has a pocket inside. Ok, so it's not the best photo ever... but you get the idea. And look, our wall of 220 as a back drop!

On a lighter note I thought I would share with you a picture of two of our sweet pups that are waiting at home for us at the end of each day. Amber in the back and Saige up front. Lycos, our other dog, was outside digging a hole while these two posed. Aren't they cute? Saige could have her own Page-A-Day Calendar with all the poses she give me. See her dainty feet? She's not an outdoor pooch.

Amber and Saige say "Rav a grood reek!"
